Regular Season Round 3: Iberostar Tener. - Valencia 67-70

An interesting game took place in Tenerife where Valencia Basket (3-0) edged by three points CB Canarias (2-1) 70-67 on Sunday night. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 36-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Erick Green (190-91, college: Virginia Tech) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 4 assists. International point guard Guillem Vives (192-93, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Valencia Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Polish swingman Mateusz Ponitka (196-93) with 14 points and 7 rebounds and American Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Valencia Basket will meet at home Real Madrid (#4) in the next round. CB Canarias will play against Joventut in Badalona and hope to secure a win.
