Regular Season Round 2: Martorell - Moron 69-79

There was no surprise when Martorell (0-2) was defeated at home by Moron (2-0) 79-69 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-69. The best player for the winners was American guard Taylor Cameron (196-91, college: Winona St.) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guinean forward Cheick-Sekou Conde (203-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Four Moron players scored in double figures. Egyptian power forward Ahmed Khalaf (206-99) produced 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and guard Xavi Guirao (190-87) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Moron will face Zamorano (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Martorell will play against Plasencia and hope to win that game.
