Regular Season Round 4: Iwate Big Bulls - Hiroshima D. 54-93

Rather predictable result when third ranked Dragonflies (3-1) rolled over on the road bottom-ranked Iwate Big Bulls (0-4) 93-54 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 21-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-54. Dragonflies dominated on the defensive end, holding Iwate Big Bulls to just 3 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Iwate Big Bulls' 32. Iwate Big Bulls were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Seiya Tanaka (186-91) contributed with 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Guard Noriyuki Sugasawa (192-87) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and guard Tatsunori Fujie (184-87) added 16 points in the effort for Iwate Big Bulls. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dragonflies have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyotsu FE and Kanazawa Sam. Iwate Big Bulls at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Dragonflies will face Kumamoto V. (#4) at home in the next round. Iwate Big Bulls will play against Yamagata and hope to get finally their first victory.
