Regular Season Round 2: Mitsubishi K. - Toyota B SR 88-62

The most surprising game was a loss of Toyota B SR (1-1) in Nagoya on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Mitsubishi K. (1-1) 88-62. The game without a history. Mitsubishi K. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Toyota B SR's 28. They outrebounded Toyota B SR 53-30 including a 26-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Yuka Kosuge (180-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Mitsubishi K. players scored in double figures. Forward Mika Yamanaka (175-88) replied with 13 points and power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Toyota B SR. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mitsubishi K. is looking forward to face Denso Iris in Kariya in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Toyota B SR will play on the road against Toyota A. (#4) in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
