Regular Season Round 7: Bantrab - USAC 48-73

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Guatemala: USAC (#1) and Bantrab (#6). Bantrab was crushed at home by 25 points 48-73 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. USAC forced 22 Bantrab turnovers and outrebounded them 42-31 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Miguel Gonzalez (187-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Guard Luis Menendez (180-95) helped adding 22 points and 9 rebounds. USAC's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Mynor Aquino (175-89) responded with 6 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and Cesar Del Cid scored 15 points. USAC (8-0) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 8 victories in a row. Bantrab lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. USAC are looking forward to face league's second-placed ELOHIM in Chimaltenango in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bantrab will have a break next round.
