Regular Season Round 4: Strasbourg U21 - Le Mans 72-65
Date: October 9, 2017
Bottom-ranked Le Mans (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 72-65 loss to top-ranked Strasbourg (4-0) in Strasbourg on Monday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-65. It was a great shooting night for Strasbourg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Point guard Ludovic Beyhurst (172-99) fired 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Marc Kwedi (200-97) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Strasbourg players scored in double figures. Strasbourg's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Mel Esso-Essis (199-98) produced 21 points and guard Liam Jackson (185-99) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Strasbourg have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gravelines and Cholet. Loser Le Mans still closes the standings with four games lost. Strasbourg will face Limoges (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Le Mans will play against Bourg (#7) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
