Regular Season Round 4: Strasbourg - Le Mans 76-78

Date: October 9, 2017
A very close game took place in Strasbourg between Le Mans and Strasbourg IG. Top-ranked Le Mans (4-0) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Strasbourg IG (2-2). Le Mans managed to escape with a 2-point win 78-76 on Monday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Strasbourg IG. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-76. The winners were led by American guard Justin Cobbs (190-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored that evening 21 points and Senegalese center Youssoupha Fall (221-95) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Darion Atkins (203-92, college: Virginia) did not help to save the game for Strasbourg IG. American-Bosnian guard Zack Wright (188-85, college: Central Mo.) added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Le Mans have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Strasbourg IG at the other side keeps the seventh place with two games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Le Mans will meet at home JL Bourg (#4) in the next round. Strasbourg IG will play against Limoges CSP Elite and hope to secure a win.
