Regular Season Round 1: Blokotehna - SK Tirana 100-68

An exciting game was played in Gevgelija. FYR Macedonian Blokotehna faced Albanian SK Tirana. Host Blokotehna (1-0) smashed guests from Tirana (0-1) 100-68. The game was mostly controlled by Blokotehna. SK Tirana managed to win fourth quarter 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Blokotehna forced 20 SK Tirana turnovers. American forward Dwayne Benjamin (201-93, college: Oregon) stepped up and scored 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and guard Goran Glavchev (191-93) chipped in 21 points and 5 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Blokotehna players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Endrit Hysenagolli (206-88) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) and Kosovan-Albanian Gerti Shima (204-86) scored 11 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Blokotehna will meet at home Bashkimi (#4) in the next round. SK Tirana will play against Academik Plovdiv (#1) and hope to win that game.
