Regular Season Round 3: MKS DG - King 84-73

Date: October 11, 2017
Not a big story in a game when Wilki Morskie (3-2) was defeated on the road by MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (2-1) 84-73 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by MKS Dabrowa Gornicza. Wilki Morskie was better in third quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Wilki Morskie 46-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. Wilki Morskie was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward DJ Shelton (208-91, college: Washington St.) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza's coach Jacek Winnicki used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian Tauras Jogela (202-93, agency: Players Group) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Pawel Kikowski (193-86) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Four Wilki Morskie players scored in double figures. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza will face Stelmet (#9) in Zielona Gora in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Wilki Morskie will play on the road against Miasto Szkla (#14) in Krosno and hope to win that game.
