Regular Season Round 5: Hiroshima D. - Kumamoto V. 69-75

There was a minor upset in Hiroshima where second-ranked Dragonflies (4-2) were defeated by fourth ranked Kumamoto V. (3-3) 75-69 on Friday. Dragonflies trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 26-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 69-75 at the end of the game. Kumamoto V. made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Power forward Ryota Nakanishi (199-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. American guard Terrence Drisdom (196-92, college: Cal Poly Pomona) responded with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Kumamoto V. maintains fourth place with 3-3 record. Loser Dragonflies keep the second position with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
