Regular Season Round 7: Ryukyu GK - Shiga L-Stars 84-53

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ryukyu GK as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Niigata Albirex) loss. Ryukyu GK smashed 3rd placed Shiga L-Stars in Okinawa 84-53. The game without a history. Ryukyu GK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Shiga L-Stars' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Hassan Martin (201-95, college: Rhode Island) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) contributed with 6 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Narito Namizato (172-89) answered with 8 points and 5 assists and guard Tomonobu Hasegawa (184-90) added 11 points in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ryukyu GK have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Shiga L-Stars lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Nagoya DD and Yokohama BC. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
