Regular Season Round 3: Leiden - Weert 101-78

Very predictable result when Leiden (2-0) smashed at home Weert (0-3) 101-78. The game was mostly controlled by Leiden. Weert was better in fourth quarter 23-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Leiden forced 21 Weert turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Weert's players. It was an exceptional evening for international Worthy de Jong (194-88) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. American guard Carrington Love (186-94, college: Green Bay) accounted for 24 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Leiden players scored in double figures. Power forward Roel Aarts (205-93) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and the former international power forward Jeroen van-der-List (212-89, college: Indian Hills CC) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Weert in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leiden will play against Den Helder (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Weert will play against Amsterdam and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
