Regular Season Round 5: Akita NH - Shinshu BW 74-64

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Shinshu BW (4-1) on the court of leader Akita Happinets on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Akita Happinets 74-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Shinshu BW. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 43-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Akita Happinets forced 20 Shinshu BW turnovers. Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: S.Florida) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Coleby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Yosuke Yosuke (184-85) scored 7 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akita Happinets (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Shinshu BW at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Akita Happinets is again looking forward to face league's leader Shinshu BW in Nagano in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shinshu BW will have a break next round.
