Regular Season Round 3: Kagoshima - Otsuka A. 75-93

There was no surprise in Renova where Kagoshima (1-5) was defeated by Otsuka A. (3-3) 93-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Otsuka A.. Kagoshima was better in third quarter 28-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Otsuka A. forced 20 Kagoshima turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Shuichiro Samejima (188-87) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) added 13 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Otsuka A.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo Excel..
