Regular Season Round 7: Oxaco - Spirou B 92-95

Important game to mention about took place in Boechout. Third ranked Spirou B (6-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Oxaco (4-2) 95-92 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Oxaco. Oxaco was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for naturalized Cuban point guard Sigfredo Casero-Ortiz (185-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points (made all of his eight free throws). Forward William Robeyns (192-96, agency: Promotex) helped adding 22 points. Spirou B's coach Frederic Wilmot allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side center Bert Van-de-Broek (201-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Nick Celis (196-88) scored 11 points and 7 assists. Five Oxaco players scored in double figures. Spirou B have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Oxaco at the other side keeps the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Gembo BBC. Spirou B will play against league's second-placed Waregem at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Oxaco will play against Soba in Antwerpen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
