Ventspils smashed Jekabpils at home 76-50. Ventspils looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Ingus Jakovics (186-93, college: BS Liepaja) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 assists. American guard Blake Hamilton (198-94, college: Buffalo) helped adding 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Four Ventspils players scored in double figures. Ventspils' coach Roberts Stelmahers felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international center Jurijs Aleksejevs (202-85) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and forward Arturs Vitins (198-92, college: Ohio Valley) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Jekabpils will play next round against Latvijas Universitate trying to get back on the winning streak. Ventspils will try to continue on its current victory against Betsafe in Liepaja.
