Regular Season Round 7: Toyota Alvark - Yokohama BC 79-58

There was no surprise in Tokyo where 6th ranked Yokohama BC (1-4) was crushed by fourth ranked Toyota Alvark (4-1) 79-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota Alvark. Yokohama BC was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Yokohama BC to just 7 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Yokohama BC 41-24 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Toyota Alvark looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: N.Carolina) fired 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota Alvark keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Yokohama BC lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
