Regular Season Round 5: Cyberdyne IR - Tokyo Z 77-47

Rather predictable result in Tsukuba where fourth ranked Cyberdyne IR (3-2) smashed 6th ranked Tokyo Z (1-4) 77-47 on Saturday. The game without a history. Cyberdyne IR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tokyo Z to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Cyberdyne IR dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Z's 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Swingman Josei Maniwa (193-86) stepped up and scored 14 points and 4 assists for the winners and guard Atsunobu Hirao (178-89) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Cyberdyne IR players scored in double figures. American forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) responded with 6 points and 8 rebounds and guard Masuko Takumi (186-91) scored 6 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cyberdyne IR moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Tokyo Z lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Cyberdyne IR will face again Tokyo Z (#6) at home in the next round.
