A very interesting game took place in Zilina. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 10th ranked Zilina (1-3) to third ranked Levice (3-1) 88-86 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Levice forced 21 Zilina turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Zilina helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian forward Zarko Djuric (202-89) fired 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Estonian guard Tanel Kurbas (197-88) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. American point guard Walter Wright (178, college: Montana) produced 30 points and 7 assists and his fellow American import center Brandon Holcomb (201-93, college: Radford) added 13 points, 21 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Four Zilina players scored in double figures. Levice keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Inter Bratislava and Kosice. Newly promoted Zilina stay at the bottom place with three games lost. Levice's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Kosice at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zilina will play against Prievidza (#6) and hope to win that game.
