An interesting game took place in Valga where Valka/Valga (1-2) was upset on its own court by Valmiera (1-4) 75-71. It looked good early as Valka/Valga took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Valmiera took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 4 points. They made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a good game for guard Eduards Hazners (192-97) who led his team to a victory with 28 points. Center Viktors Iljins (212-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Edgars Lasenbergs (189-95) answered with 20 points and 4 assists and power forward Roberts Freimanis (204-91, college: BS Liepaja) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Valka/Valga. Valka/Valga's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Valmiera will have a break next round.
