Regular Season Round 5: Tralee - DCU Saints 89-64
Date: October 14, 2017
Very expected game when 10th ranked DCU Saints (1-4) were smashed on the road by fourth ranked Tralee (4-1) 89-64 on Saturday. Tralee forced 21 DCU Saints turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by DCU Saints' players. Swingman Kieran Donaghy (198-83) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. American guard Trae Pemberton (193-92, college: Maryville, MO) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Pemberton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Tralee players scored in double figures. American center Dee Proby (208-88, college: Oklahoma City) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds and Tariq Guebali added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for DCU Saints. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tralee have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Swords Thunder. DCU Saints lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with four games lost. Tralee will face Killester (#7) in Dublin in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. DCU Saints' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena UCD Marian.
