Regular Season Round 4: Tarbes - Hainaut 87-54

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Tarbes and 9th ranked Hainaut had identical 1-2 record. This time Tarbes used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Saint-Amand 87-54. Tarbes dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Hainaut's 26. They outrebounded Hainaut 44-25 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Canadian forward Michelle Plouffe (193-92, college: Utah) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Tima Pouye (176-99) supported her with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Tarbes players scored in double figures. Tarbes had such big advantage that coach Francois Gomez felt comfortable to give the chance to play for 10 players saving starting five for next games. Even 9 points and 11 rebounds by Slovakian forward Katarina Tetemondova (188-88) did not help to save the game for Hainaut. Spanish guard Laura Garcia (176-81, agency: ProDep Management) added 10 points and 5 assists for lost side. Tarbes (2-2) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Mondeville and Nantes. Hainaut lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with three games lost. Tarbes' next round opponent will be Nice (#11) on the road where they are favorite. Hainaut will play against Mondeville and hope to win that game.
