Regular Season Round 5: JAS FBG - Enea AZS P. 93-51

JAS FBG's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Enea AZS P. (0-4) 93-51. The game was mostly controlled by JAS FBG. Enea AZS P. was better in fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JAS FBG dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Enea AZS P.'s 22 and made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. JAS FBG forced 19 Enea AZS P. turnovers and outrebounded them 42-22 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Robyn Parks (183-92, college: VCU) stepped up and scored 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and international power forward Malgorzata Misiuk (184-91) chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds. Four JAS FBG players scored in double figures. JAS FBG's coach Miroslaw Orczyk felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Katarzyna Bednarczyk (184-89) responded with 13 points and power forward Aleksandra Parzenska (187-97) scored 7 points. JAS FBG (1-4) left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with TS Ostrovia and CCC Polkowice. It was Enea AZS P.'s fourth loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Widzew. JAS FBG will play against higher ranked AZS UMCS (#5) in Lublin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Enea AZS P. will play on the road against the league's leader Artego Bydg. (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
