The most surprising game was a loss of Loon Lions (2-1) in Landsmeer on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by Royal Eagles (1-2) 60-57. It was a good game for center Marleen Peek (194-0) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Canadian guard Danielle Boiago (170-94, college: McMaster) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International guard Tanya Broering (178-84) answered with 23 points and 7 rebounds and the former international swingman Kim Hartman (172-86) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Loon Lions. Royal Eagles is looking forward to face CTO (#7) in Amsterdam in the next round. Loon Lions will play on the road against Grasshoppers (#8) in Katwijk and are hoping to win this game.
