Regular Season Round 5: Musel Pikes - Residence 66-85

An interesting game took place in Stadrbredimus where 4th placed Musel Pikes (3-2) was upset on its own court by ninth ranked Residence (2-3) 85-66 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Musel Pikes. Residence shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Alli Gloyd (185-92, college: Arizona) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds. Her fellow American import swingman Robin Perkins (178-93, college: Rider) chipped in 31 points and 9 rebounds. American Natalie Bastian (173) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds and international guard Cathy Schmit (170-90) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Residence moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Grengewald. Loser Musel Pikes keeps the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with T71 Dudelange. Residence will meet at home league's second-placed Basket Esch in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Musel Pikes will play against Contern and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
