Regular Season Round 3: Denso Iris - Mitsubishi K. 55-57

Denso Iris (2-1) recorded a loss in Kariya on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by Mitsubishi K. (2-1) 57-55. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 57-55. Mitsubishi K. forced 23 Denso Iris turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) who scored 11 points and 4 assists. Guard Midori Kazama (168-90) chipped in 12 points. At the other side the best for losing team was center Himawari Akaho (181-98) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Minami Iju (168-90) added 19 points respectively. Denso Iris' coach Hiroshi Kojima rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mitsubishi K. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Denso Iris will play again on the road against Mitsubishi K. (#5) in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
