The game in Kinna was also quite interesting. 5th ranked AIK Basket (1-3) played at the court of sixth ranked Mark (2-2). Mark defeated AIK Basket 70-58 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Mark. AIK Basket was better in fourth quarter 25-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American power forward Alexis Hyder (180-94, college: LSU) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. The other American import point guard Janee Thompson (170-93, college: Kentucky) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Point guard Gunesh Ozturk (168-97) produced 21 points and 4 assists and American center Janel McCarville (188-82, college: Minnesota) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mark moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted AIK Basket dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Mark will face higher ranked Alvik Basket (#4) in Stockholm in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AIK Basket will play at home against Visby Ladies and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
