Regular Season Round 8: Hokkaido L. - Toshiba BT 95-79

An interesting game for Hokkaido L. (4-2) which hosted in Saporro one of their biggest challengers Toshiba Thunders (4-2). Third ranked Hokkaido L. had an easy win 95-79. Toshiba Thunders were ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 51-30 second half run of Hokkaido L.. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Toshiba Thunders' 42. Hokkaido L. players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American forward Greg Whittington (203-93, college: Rutgers) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. American power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) produced 28 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hokkaido L. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Toshiba Thunders. Hokkaido L.'s next round opponent will be Niigata Albirex (#3) on the road, which may be the game of the day. Toshiba Thunders will play against Hitachi Sunrockers and hope to win that game.
