Regular Season Round 3: Bisons Loimaa - Espoo Basket 97-72

Loimaan Korikonkarit (3-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed Espoo Basket (1-2) 97-72. The game without a history. Loimaan Korikonkarit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game, while Espoo Basket only scored three points from the stripe. Loimaan Korikonkarit looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Josh Caldwell (203, college: William Penn) who scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Esko Salonen (185-96) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Caldwell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Loimaan Korikonkarit players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Roy Hinkkanen (182-97) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Matias Leikkonen (190-96) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Loimaan Korikonkarit will meet PeU-Basket (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Espoo Basket will play against Aanekosken Huima and hope to win that game.
