Regular Season Round 3: Kagoshima - Otsuka A. 88-82

Very important is a road loss of Otsuka A. (3-3) against Kagoshima (1-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Otsuka A. was defeated by Kagoshima in a tough game in Renova 82-88. Otsuka A. was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 31-21 charge of Kagoshima, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Otsuka A. turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Kagoshima especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Kagoshima players scored in double figures. Forward Ray Raymond (203-84, college: Wisconsin) came up with 29 points and forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) added 21 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Otsuka A. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kagoshima's next round opponent will be Tokyo Cinq R. (#6) on the road.
