The most surprising game was the first loss of Gran Canaria (3-1) on the court of fifteenth ranked Andorra on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Andorra 78-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gran Canaria. Gran Canaria trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 26-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-78 at the end of the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Gran Canaria helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovenian Jaka Blazic (196-90) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian power forward Oliver Stevic (204-84, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Albert Oliver (187-78) replied with 16 points and 4 assists and Dominican Eulis Baez (201-82, college: W.Illinois) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Gran Canaria. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Andorra (1-3) left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with Baskonia. Gran Canaria at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Andorra is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Zaragoza (#18) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Gran Canaria will play against Joventut (#15) and is hoping to win this game.
