Regular Season Round 6: Cyberdyne IR - Tokyo Z 76-93
Date: October 15, 2017
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Cyberdyne IR (3-3) against sixth ranked Tokyo Z (2-4) on Sunday night. Host Cyberdyne IR was defeated by Tokyo Z in Tsukuba 93-76. It looked good early as Cyberdyne IR took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tokyo Z took control winning next two quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 17 points. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Point guard Kashiwagura Kashiwagura (180-95) notched 17 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and point guard Shimon Takayama (180-90) supported him with 17 points. Even a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds by American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) did not help to save the game for Cyberdyne IR. His fellow American import guard Andrew Warren (196-87, college: Bradley) added 18 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Tokyo Z moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Yamagata. Cyberdyne IR at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Tokyo Z's next round opponent will be Toyotsu FE (#5) in Nagoya.
