Regular Season Round 6: Bambitious Nara - Sendai 89ers 68-82

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Sendai 89ers (3-3) defeated on the road 5th ranked Bambitious Nara (1-5) 82-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Sendai 89ers. Bambitious Nara was better in fourth quarter 18-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bambitious Nara was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Shuto Mizoguchi (187-87) who scored 13 points and 6 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Five Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers' coach Toshihiro Goto used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL, agency: Inception Sports) added 6 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Sendai 89ers maintains third position with 3-3 record having just three points less than leader Gunma, which they share with 4 other teams. Bambitious Nara lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with five games lost. Sendai 89ers will face Iwate Big Bulls (#5) at home in the next round. Bambitious Nara will play against the league's second-placed Fukushima and hope to win that game.
