Regular Season Round 4: Castello - FC Barcelona II 80-90

An interesting game took place in Castellon where 12th ranked Castello (1-3) was upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked Barca II (2-2) 90-80 on Sunday. Barca II had a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Castello was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Aleix Font (192-98) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Sergi Martinez (203-99) who added 11 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Barca II players scored in double figures. Barca II's coach Alfredo Julbe allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Congolese forward Charles Nkaloulou (199-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Lithuanian forward Tautvydas Sabonis (203-92) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Barca II moved-up to eighth place, which they share with CB Clavijo and Palma. Loser Castello dropped to the thirteenth position with three games lost. Barca II will face bottom-ranked Palencia Baloncesto (#18) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Castello will play against Palma (#10) in S'Arenal and hope to win that game.
