Regular Season Round 6: Al-Muharraq - Al-Ahli 59-67

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Al-Muharraq (5-1) in Al Muharraq on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by Al-Ahli (5-1) 67-59. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Al-Muharraq. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It was a good game for the former international forward Hesham Sarhan (-92) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Quinton Doggett (206-90, college: Southern) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Al-Ahli players scored in double figures. American center Jordan Richard (206-89, college: CS Los Angeles) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds and Bader Abdulla added 14 points in the effort for Al-Muharraq. Al-Muharraq's coach Ivan Jeremic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Al-Ahli have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Al-Muharraq and Al-Nweidrat. Al-Ahli's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Manama to the arena Al-Ittihad.
