Regular Season Round 4: Pyrinto II - Lahti 82-73

Not a big story in a game in Tampere where bottom-ranked Lahti (0-4) was defeated by tenth ranked Pyrinto II (1-2) 82-73 on Thursday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-11. But Lahti won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Damon Williams (201-73, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Eerik Harju (185-98) who added 12 points and 4 assists during the contest. Pyrinto II's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American power forward Henry Pwono (201-91, college: East Central) responded with 25 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and his fellow American import guard Jordan Jacks (196-94, college: Ky Wesleyan) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pyrinto II left bottom position moving up to seventh place in Division. Loser Lahti still closes the standings with four games lost. Pyrinto II will face Jyvaskyla BA (#9) on the road in the next round. Lahti will play against Ura Basket and hopes to get finally their first victory.
