But Hottur was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Reykjavik 99-93 on Thursday night. Hottur was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Urald King (198-90, college: SE Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 17 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). Naturalized American guard Austin Bracey (190-90) contributed with 30 points for the winners. Four Valur players scored in double figures. Valur's coach Agust Bjorgvinsson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Aaron Moss (185, college: Cabrini) answered with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international forward Mirko Virijevic (201-81, college: Freed-Hardeman, agency: SportsVision-Service) added 29 points and 18 rebounds in the effort for Hottur. Valur's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Reykjavik KR.
