Rather predictable result in Uusikaupunki where eighth ranked UU-Korihait (3-3) defeated bottom-ranked KTP-Basket (1-5) 97-90 on Friday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. UU-Korihait made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Marius Van Andringa (189-94) who scored 24 points. American forward Juan Pattillo (203-88, college: W.Kentucky) chipped in 22 points. At the other side the best for losing team was U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin (190-92, college: Kent St., agency: Interperformances) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Michael Pounds (189-88) added 18 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. UU-Korihait moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pyrinto and Kauhajoki. Loser KTP-Basket stay at the bottom position with five games lost. They share it with Espoo United. UU-Korihait will meet at home Kauhajoki (#6) in the next round. KTP-Basket will play against Lapuan Korikobrat (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
