Regular Season Round 9: Nishinomiya S. - Shiga L-Stars 80-71

No shocking result in a game in Hyogo where fourth ranked Nishinomiya S. (2-6) won against 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (2-6) 80-71 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-71. Nishinomiya S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Narito Namizato (172-89) with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Shiga L-Stars' coach Shawn Dennis rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Nishinomiya S. maintains fourth place with 2-6 record, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Shiga L-Stars. Shiga L-Stars lost sixth consecutive game. Nishinomiya S. will face higher ranked Shimane Magic (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shiga L-Stars will play against Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
