Regular Season Round 2: Poitiers - Le Havre 80-78

A very interesting game took place in Poitiers. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of STB Le Havre (0-2) to Poitiers (1-1) 80-78 on Friday evening. It looked good early as STB Le Havre took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Poitiers had a 28-18 second period charge getting the lead and STB Le Havre was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-80. Poitiers made 33-of-38 charity shots (86.8 percent) during the game, while STB Le Havre only scored thirteen points from the stripe. 24 personal fouls committed by STB Le Havre helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American-Puerto Rican Devon Collier (203-91, college: Oregon St.) who scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Dominican guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Poitiers' coach Rudy Nelhomme allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Stacy Davis (198-94, college: Pepperdine) produced 31 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Fabien Paschal (208-91) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Poitiers' next round opponent will be Lille Metropole on the road and it may be quite challenging game. STB Le Havre will play against ALM Evreux (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
