Regular Season Round 7: Ehime OV - Kumamoto V. 81-78

A very interesting game took place in Matsuyama. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Kumamoto V. (3-5) to second ranked Orange Vikings (6-2) 81-78 on Friday evening. Kumamoto V. was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 24-16 charge of Orange Vikings, which allowed them to win the game. They made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Toshino Yoshihiko (186-92) chipped in 22 points (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Four Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) produced 25 points and Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) added 9 points respectively for lost side. Kumamoto V.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Orange Vikings. They maintain second place with 6-2 record having just one point less than leader Shinshu BW. Kumamoto V. at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
