Regular Season Round 7: Las Animas - Tinguiririca S.F. 107-66

Liga Nacional top team - Las Animas (6-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Tinguiririca S.F. (2-5) in Valdivia 107-66. Las Animas dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Tinguiririca S.F.'s 40. Las Animas forced 20 Tinguiririca S.F. turnovers and outrebounded them 41-17 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Las Animas players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Tinguiririca S.F.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Brandon Robinson (198-89, college: Clayton St.) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Kristian Clarkson (202-84, college: Widener) contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The former international center Rodrigo Madera (208-90) answered with 11 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Francisco Pavez (178-92) added 10 points in the effort for Tinguiririca S.F.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Las Animas maintains first place with 6-1 record. Tinguiririca S.F. at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Las Animas' next round opponent will be Puente Alto (#4) at home. Tinguiririca S.F. will play against Osorno Basquetbol and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
