Top ranked Leeuwarden (2-2) recorded its second loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by eighth ranked Rotterdam (1-3) 80-69. The game was mostly controlled by Rotterdam. Leeuwarden was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Rotterdam won last quarter 23-13. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Leeuwarden's 24. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Chris Commons (206-84, college: USC Aiken) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import swingman Trevor Setty (203-89, college: Pikeville) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Canadian Meshack Lufile (203-92, college: Cape Breton) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Emile Blackman (190-94, college: Duquesne) added 19 points in the effort for Leeuwarden. Leeuwarden's coach Tony van den Bosch rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rotterdam left bottom position moving up to seventh place. Leeuwarden at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Rotterdam will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Leeuwarden will play on the road against Den Bosch (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
