Regular Season Round 6: UCD Marian - Killester 66-91

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of UCD Marian (5-1) in Dublin on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by fifth ranked Killester (4-3) 91-66. Killester forced 26 UCD Marian turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by UCD Marian's players. Luis Garcia-hoyos had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Portuguese Rodrigo Garcia chipped in 24 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Five Killester players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Mike Garrow (193-91, college: E.Connecticut) with 23 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Dan James (189-90) scored 9 points. UCD Marian's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Killester have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Killester went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with Templeogue. UCD Marian at the other side keeps the second place with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
