Regular Season Round 9: Tochigi Brex - Toyota Alvark 71-76

Rather predictable result when second ranked Toyota Alvark (7-1) defeated on the road 6th ranked Tochigi Brex (2-6) 76-71 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tochigi Brex won third quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Toyota Alvark's coach Luka Pavicevic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international guard Yuta Tabuse (173-80, college: BYU-Hawaii) scored 13 points. Toyota Alvark have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with SeaHorses. Tochigi Brex lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Toyota Alvark will face Toshiba Thunders (#4) in Kanagawa in the next round. Tochigi Brex will play on the road against Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
