Regular Season Round 4: Segle XXI - Lima-Horta 54-67

Bottom-ranked Segle XXI is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to eighth ranked Lima-Horta (3-1) 67-54. It looked good early as Segle XXI took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. Then Lima-Horta had a 16-11 second period charge getting the lead and Segle XXI was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 54-67. Point guard Elena Silva (173-92) fired 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Vanesa Verbo (174-94) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Center Hermosa Nerea (194-1) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Ana Gamarra added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lima-Horta moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with 4 other teams. Segle XXI at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Lima-Horta's next round opponent will be Oviedo (#13) at home which should be an easy win for them. Segle XXI will play against the league's second-placed GDKO Bizkaia in Galdakao and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
