Regular Season Round 9: Shimane SM - Ryukyu GK 75-69

Leading Ryukyu GK (5-3) recorded its third loss on the court of third ranked Shimane Magic. Visitors were defeated by Shimane Magic 75-69. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ryukyu GK. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-10. But Ryukyu GK won second period 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import center Brendan Lane (206-90, college: Pepperdine) accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds. American center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) came up with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Ryukyu GK in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shimane Magic (4-4) moved-up to second place, which they share with San-en and Toyama Grouses. Ryukyu GK at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Kyoto Hannar.. Shimane Magic will play against Nishinomiya S. (#4) in Hyogo in the next round. Ryukyu GK will play at home against Chiba Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
