Regular Season Round 9: Yokohama BC - SeaHorses 73-79

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (7-1) won against on the road 6th ranked Yokohama BC (1-7) 79-73 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Yokohama BC won third quarter 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aishin Sea Horses looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Daniel Orton (208-90, college: Kentucky) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and the former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) with 20 points and 7 assists and Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: Connecticut) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Yokohama BC's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-1 record, which they share with Toyota Alvark. Yokohama BC lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face league's second-placed San-en NeoPhoenix in Hamamatsu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yokohama BC will play on the road against Niigata Albirex (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
