Regular Season Round 7: Shinshu BW - Fukuoka Rizing 74-78

The game had a very big importance for first-ranked Fukuoka Rizing as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Fukuoka Rizing defeated their biggest opponent Shinshu BW in Nagano 78-74. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Shinshu BW was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 24-14 charge of Fukuoka Rizing, which allowed them to win the game. They made 25-of-31 charity shots (80.6 percent) during the game, while Shinshu BW only scored seven points from the stripe. Shinshu BW was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) helped adding 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. At the losing side American center Nick Washburn (208-91, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Yosuke Yosuke (184-85) scored 15 points. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Fukuoka Rizing (6-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position which they share with defeated Shinshu BW. Shinshu BW at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. They share the position with Fukushima. Shinshu BW will play next round against league's leader Fukuoka Rizing trying to get back on the winning streak. Fukuoka Rizing will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
