Regular Season Round 5: Gernika - Estudiantes 101-51

Bottom-ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 101-51 loss to tenth ranked Gernika (3-2) in Gernika on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Gernika led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ASEFA Estudiantes to just 4 points in first quarter. Gernika dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to ASEFA Estudiantes' 24. They outrebounded ASEFA Estudiantes 41-27 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gernika looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 2 passes made by ASEFA Estudiantes' players. The best player for the winners was American-Belizean forward Aishah Sutherland (187-90, college: Kansas, agency: Two Points) who scored 16 points. Point guard Juana Molina-Prados (172-91) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Gernika players scored in double figures.
